At Bedford Street, we dove into the joyful celebration of Holi—a festival known for its vibrant colours, beautiful traditions, and message of love and togetherness
We transformed our garden into a burst of colour with bright streamers and decorations, creating the perfect backdrop for our very own Gulal paint-throwing party! The children wore plain white t-shirts ready to be splattered with powdered paint in every colour of the rainbow. Laughter and squeals of delight filled the air as the children took part in this playful tradition—throwing, tossing and twirling through clouds of colour!
Before the fun began, we took time to learn about the festival, exploring the stories behind Holi, the meaning of Gulal, and how it’s celebrated around the world. We talked about springtime, friendship, good overcoming evil, and how some of our own friends at nursery celebrate Holi at home.
Throughout the day, the children:
The energy was infectious—music played, feet danced, and colours flew, making it a celebration to remember! Through the excitement, children developed their understanding of the world, built emotional connections, and explored creativity, movement and communication in the most joyful way.
Celebrating Holi allows our children to embrace other cultures with curiosity, respect and joy—something we believe is so important in laying the foundations for an inclusive world.
Thank you to our Bedford Street team for helping us create a day filled with laughter, learning, and colour!
