Our children recently had a very special surprise — a letter from King Charles III himself!
Earlier this summer, the children worked hard to create beautiful handmade cards for His Majesty’s birthday and for Trooping the Colour. They put so much thought and care into their designs, choosing colours, drawing pictures and adding their own little messages of celebration.
Once the cards were ready, the children took an exciting walk to the local post office. They each had the chance to see how letters are sent, chose stamps, and proudly posted the cards into the big red post box. This little adventure gave the children a hands-on experience of the postal system, linking perfectly to their real-world learning. 📮
The excitement reached new heights when a very important envelope arrived back at nursery — a thank you letter from King Charles III! The children were amazed to hear that the King had received their cards and taken the time to send a reply.
We finished the day celebration off by our wonderful apprentice Lillie setting up an exciting, royal role play area for all to enjoy!
This experience was packed with opportunities for early years learning:
The joy and pride on the children’s faces when the letter was shared was unforgettable. For them, this was more than just a piece of paper — it was a magical reminder that their voices and creativity matter.
We are so proud of their efforts and grateful for this wonderful memory that will stay with them for years to come. A true royal highlight at our nursery! 👑✨
